Olga Joy, 94, of Amarillo, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

Service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4506 S. Western with Rev. Rich Jones associate pastor officiating. Private burial will be in the New Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood, Texas. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joy was born in Bisbee, Arizona to Jovan Kulinovich and Mashe Porobich Kulinovich. She grew up and attended public schools in Bisbee.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

She married O.B. Colquit Joy on December 16, 1939. They taught school together in Whiteriver, Arizona and Miami, Arizona. They also lived in Kingman, Arizona, Bisbee, and Mayer, Arizona where O.B. was Superintendent of Schools.

Upon O.B.'s death she moved to Amarillo to be close to one of her sons. She lived there with her sister until her sister's death. She then lived alone for a number of years, and then with her granddaughter for four years.

She was preceded in death by her husband after 52 years of marriage, her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister, 2 nephews and 1 niece.

She is survived by her sons Gerald Joy and wife, Laura, of Amarillo, Michael F. Joy, M.D. and wife, Barie, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; seven grandchildren - Michael W. Joy, and wife, Luisa, of Geneva, Illinois, Timothy L. Joy and wife, Jennifer, of Imperial, Missouri, Jared Joy and Resa Joy, both of Amarillo, Anne Joy of Denver, Colorado, Karl Brown and wife, Stacey, of Amarillo, and Paul Brown and wife, Tina, of Amarillo, Kerry Fitzgerald and Lauren Fitzgerald, both of Denver, and Katie Fitzgerald of Cheyenne; and many great-grandchildren; three nieces; and two sisters-in-law.
She will be missed by her family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Karl Brown, Paul Brown, Resa Joy, Michael W. Joy, Timothy L. Joy, and Jared Joy.
