Annie Taylor-Baker

Annie ""Lena"" Taylor-Baker 84 of Amarillo died Sunday December 9, 2007at Amarillo. Services will be at 2:30 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Troy Richardson pastor of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Baker was born in Erick, OK. She moved to Amarillo in the late 1940's. She received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University. She taught special education students at schools in Plainview and in Tucumcari, NM. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and loved volunteering for local literacy programs. Survivors include: 3 daughters; Julia LaChance and Linda West, both of Amarillo and Johni Freeman of Tyler, 2 sons; Billy Bob Taylor of Charleston, WV and Mark Baker of Tyler, 1 sister; Essie Carpenter of Tupelo, MS, 1 brother; Jay Dowdell of Oklahoma City, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
