December 24, 1923 — January 14, 2010

Wayne Jordan 86, of Amarillo died Thursday January 14, 2010 at the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Saint Paul United Methodist Church with Perry Hunsacker officiating. Mr. Jordan's body was donated to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock at his request. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Jordan was born in Groom on December 24, 1923 to Mark and Ollye (Queen) Jordan. He was raised near Crosbyton. He served in the Army during WWII. He raised his daughters in White Deer and moved to Amarillo in 1976. In 2009, Mr. Jordan moved to Spearman to be closer to his daughter, Cindy. He worked at Wheeler Evans in White Deer from 1945 - 1976. After moving to Amarillo, Mr. Jordan worked as a commodities broker for Snider-Burnett. He also worked as a security guard at Park Place Towers where he made many friends. He married Dorothy Colgrove on August 26, 1948. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1986. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Paul Glen Jordan and Wendell Jordan Survivors include 2 daughters; Cathy Elmore and her husband Mike of Cleburne and Cindy Scribner and her husband, Jerald Ray of Spearman; 1 brother, Max Jordan of Amarillo; 1 sister, Sue Moore of Floydada; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Veterans Auxillary or the charity of your choice.
