A. Lawrence Cook, 80 of Amarillo died Tuesday April 18, 2006 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Bill Wade pastor of Buchanan Street United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cook was born in Gem City. He graduated from Canadian High School. He served in the Navy with the 25th Seabees during WWII. He moved to Amarillo in 1953. Mr. Cook retired from Amarillo Hardware after 20 years of service. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He was a member of Buchanan Street United Methodist Church. He married Mary McGuire in 1957. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 son; Kenneth Cook and his wife Linda of Hereford, 1 daughter; Peggy Gore and her husband Mike of Choctaw, OK, 1 sister; Patsy Wilson of Canadian, 1 brother; Dale Cook of Amarillo and 1 grandson; James Cook of Amarillo. The family requests memorial donations to the Buchanan Street United Methodist Church, 617 N. Buchanan St. Amarillo, Texas 79107
