A.C. Burleson 91, of Amarillo died Wednesday December 23, 2009 at his home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor with Randy Davis, pastor of Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Burleson was born in Roswell, NM. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He served in the Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Mr. Burleson worked as a butcher at Pinkney Packing Company at 2900 E. Third for 32 years. After his retirement, he went to work as an engraver for the Amarillo Globe news for more than 10 years. He married Loraine ""Meme"" Tupin on May 31, 1939. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2006. Survivors include his son and daughter in law Michael and Debbie Burleson of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Amy Sanchez and her husband Richie of McKinney and Shawn Burleson and his wife Carrie of Borger and 8 great-grandchildren, Christopher Sanchez, Cameron Sanchez, Cody Sanchez, Carly Sanchez, Chenoa Burleson, Chelby Burleson, Cally Burleson and Chloe Burleson. The body will not be available for viewing.
