Alan Dale Blackerby

Alan Dale Blackerby, 71, of Amarillo passed away on December 3, 2022. No services are scheduled at this time. Alan was born to Herbert "Loyd" and Lucy "Mary" Blackerby in Cleburne, Texas on August 31, 1951. Alan ran track at Bowie Jr High and Caprock High School holding track records at both schools, some enduring for more than a decade. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1970. Alan served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Korea as a Military Policeman. He received recognition an a M-16 Expert and sharpshooter. Alan enjoyed assembling and painting models of ships, planes, and cars. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Alan is preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty and his parents. Those left to cherish his memories are his son Johnny Blackerby and wife Lucia of Baltimore, MD, daughter Racheal Watkins and husband Wade of Canyon, TX, daughter Christina Blackerby and Henry of Las Vegas, NV, brother Stanley Blackerby and wife Martha of Cleveland, TX, sister Susan Blackerby of Amarillo, TX; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
