Alvin Arganbright 72, of Amarillo died Friday, May 3, 2013 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Eddie Johnson, pastor officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Arganbright was born in Wheeler on June 24, 1940. He served in the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was stationed in Newfoundland and served as a surgical specialist. Mr. Arganbright loved horses, football, farming and worked in the oil fields for a while. On May 7, 1992, Mr. Arganbright was tragically injured in an automobile accident. His injuries caused him to be a quadriplegic. After his accident, he retired to become a full time Missionary Baptist preacher. He served as the chaplain for the handicapped sports group, Partners. Even with his disabilities, Alvin loved serving his family and others. He especially loved ministering and witnessing to others He married Wanda Webb on May 6, 1985 in McLean. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jean Arganbright in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two sons, Sean Arganbright of Panhandle and Mark Arganbright of Amarillo; three daughters, Jamie Almanza of Pampa, Brandy Carter and Sha Arganbright both of Amarillo; two brothers, Glen R. Arganbright and Carl Arganbright both of Amarillo, and five grandchildren, Chance Almanza, Seth Almanza, TeVondre Carter, McKenzy Arganbright and Ethan Arganbright. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Disabled Veterans of America or the Second Chance Foundation.
