Alvin 'Son' Cherry

Alvin Cherry 77, of Amarillo died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Pinnacle Community Church 7200 Arden Road in Amarillo with Kurt Oheim, senior pastor officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cherry was born in Sweetwater, OK on May 23, 1939 to Clarence and Una Cherry. He lived in Delhi for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1963. He worked as a mechanic for John Deere in Amarillo for many years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Pinnacle Community Church. Alvin married Nell Chandler on December 22, 1983 in Amarillo. He is survived by his wife, Nell; three sons, Terry Cherry, Garland Cross and his wife Karen and Jerry Cherry and his wife Nancy all of Amarillo; two daughters, Cheri Craft and her husband Glenn of Topeka, KS and Pam Campbell and her husband Don of Oliver Springs, TN; one sister, Vivian McCann of Houston; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
