Amada Chavez Ortiz, 83, of Amarillo died Monday, September 19, 2022. Funeral Service is 10am at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel officiated by Deacon Tino Frausto. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests for rosary led by Deacon Andy Gonzales at 6pm at the funeral home. Amada was born on September 13, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Tx. to Clemente Chavez and Hacinta Hernandez. She lived in Tulia for 25 years before moving to Plainview for 20 years. In 2021, Amada moved to Amarillo. She was a Homemaker all her life. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play, and also enjoyed Dancing and playing Loteria with family. Amada was preceded in death by her parents, Clemente Chavez and Hacinta Hernandez, three brothers; Andres, Clemente Jr. and Carlos, and one sister, Lupe. She is survived by nine Children; Yolanda Ortiz and Sam, Frances Cruz and Frank, Connie Netro and Susano, Mary Cruz and Julio, Sam Casillas, Jim Casillas and Cecy, Jenifer Palomo and Jose, Louis Ortiz and Isabel, Jason Ortiz and Princess, 34 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and two sisters; Paula Chavez and Anjelica Chavez Rodriguez.
