Amanda Kyrie Soliz 18, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 am Saturday at Llano East Cemetery, with Chuck Neal, associate pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amanda was born on February 3, 2004, in Amarillo. She graduated from Caprock High School in May. She was enrolled at West Texas A&M University and was looking forward to becoming an Aerospace Engineer and working at NASA. Amanda was very quiet unless she was talking about physics or Legos. She loved art and was a self-taught digital artist. She was quirky and funny. Amanda loved eating tacos especially when her mom made them. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Judith and Dustin Jones; her father, Jesus Soliz; four sisters, Katherine Morrison, Katy Jacob Kelly, Anessa Soliz and Alejandra "Nana" Resendiz; her grandparents, Norma Santoyo and Jose Antonio Garcia and her uncle Jose Antonio Garcia, Jr. The family suggests memorial donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas.
