Amelia Morales-Chavira

Amelia Morales-Chavira, 69, of Amarillo died Monday, January 11, 2021. Service is 11:00 am Friday, January 22, 2021, at Power Church Officiated by Manny De Los Santos. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Amelia was born on Post, February 6, 1951, to Jessie and Jaine Morales. She enjoyed singing, missionary work, and sharing the gospel. Her faith was very important to her. Amelia was a member of Primera Iglesias Bautista for over ten years. She met the love of her life, Fred in Big Springs Nebraska. They married on December 14, 1970, spending 35 years together. She had a big heart and was very compassionate. Education was very important to Amelia; she was a nurse for 27 years. She also was a hard worker. She took on a lot of responsibility at a young age helping her mother take care of her siblings, she learned to cook very well and learned to become an excellent provider. Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Chavira, her parents, Jessie and Jaine Morales, her sister, Elida Morales, and her brother, Jessie Morales Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Corrales, two sons; Lico and his wife Katrina and Javier Chavira and his wife Rachel, four grandchildren; Gabe, Kristian, and Adrian Chavira and Joel Corrales, two great-grandchildren; Arabella and Annaleigh, four sisters; Yolanda Hernandez, Rita Jaramillo, Sara Macias, and Martha Gillispie, and four brothers; Pete, George, Marty, and Richard Morales.
