Antonia 'Toni' Barrera Holguin

Antonia "Toni" Barrera Holguin 90, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 6 pm Friday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2500 S. Bolton. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Holguin was born on June 13, 1929 in Oklahoma City. She moved to Amarillo as a child. She married Feliciano "Chano" Rodriguez. They were married more than 20 years and had 5 children. In 1974, She married Ignacio Holguin. Mrs. Holguin worked at the American Quarter Horse Assoc. for nearly 35 years. At the time of her retirement, she was the manager of the coffee shop. Mrs. Holguin was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was involved with the choir, served as a eucharistic minister, Bible study leader and retreat coordinator. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and crochet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio, four brothers, John Gutierrez, Paul Gutierrez, Juan De La Cruz Andrada, Edward Andrade, Sr., and a sister, Agripina Olazaba. She is survived by three daughters, Vicky Rodriguez Munoz of Amarillo and Elizabeth "Lisa" Rodriguez Shaw and Stefanie Rodriguez Harmon, both of Dallas; two sons, Raul David Rodriguez and his wife Tricia and Thomas Hector Rodriguez and his wife Sheila, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Alderete and Geneva Alderete, both of Amarillo and Adela Martinez of Ontario, CA; four grandchildren, Heather, John, Robert and Danielle; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
