Antonia Augustina Lucero

Antonia A. Lucero 87, of Amarillo died Sunday November 8, 2009 in Amarillo. Rosary services will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday with Deacon Hector Gallegos officiating. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Amarillo South Church with Benny Lucero, Jr, nephew, officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Lucero was born in Trementina, NM. She moved to Amarillo in 1989 from Hereford. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford. Mrs. Lucero was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother. She married Mauricio A. Lucero on November 18, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 25, 1988 and a daughter, Erlinda Maldonado on September 28, 2005. She is survived by 6 daughters, Romey Lucero of Alexandria, VA, Amelia Mungia and her husband Gilbert of Yorktown, Rita Mejia and her husband Robert of Casa Grande, AZ., Isabel Rakestraw, Susie Grim and her husband Ron and Barbara Silva all of Amarillo; 4 sons, Samuel Lucero and his wife Adela, Morris Lucero, Jimmy Lucero and Augustine Lucero all of Amarillo; 33 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and many pets.
