Arturo Marrufo

Arturo Marrufo 50, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM Sunday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez, celebrant officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Arturo was born on January 5, 1966 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Octavio and Ramona (Gonzalez) Marrufo. He moved to Amarillo in 1981. Arturo graduated from Palo Duro High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from West Texas A&M University. As a registered nurse, he helped many families and was called upon in many special occasions to assist in saving lives. Arturo worked many years at the Baptist St. Anthony's Healthcare System. He also worked at the Clements Unit, Fresenius Medical Care and as a travelling nurse. He was a very caring person. He was always giving to others and never expected anything in return. He cherished caring for his family, especially for his mother during the last 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Elizabeth "Betty" Marrufo. Survivors include his mother, Ramona; 2 sisters, Angelica Valencia and Rosario Marrufo both of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Octavio Marrufo, and Jaime Marrufo both of Amarillo, and Oscar Marrufo of Dallas, and many other family members.
