Barbara J. Stewart

Barbara J. Stewart, 57, of Amarillo, died Thursday August 25, 2005. Memorial service will be held Monday August 29, 2005 at 10:30 am in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Father Ken Keller of Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth officiating. Private family interment will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. The family will greet visitors on Monday at Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, from 8:30 am until service time. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo TX. Barbara married Roy Gayle Stewart on November 8, 1969 in Pampa TX. She attended Texas Tech University and West Texas A & M University. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She spent a great deal of her life in service to others. She was a communion minister and took communion to the homebound and nursing home residents. She belonged to Our Lady Rosary Makers Society. During her lifetime, she made in excess of 4,000 rosaries, some of which were placed on the tomb of Padre Pio. She made many baby blankets for the Amarillo Agency for Women. She did volunteer work for St. Mary's Catholic Church; Amarillo Nursing Center, Country Club Manor, Good Samaritan Retirement Home, Downtown Women's Center, Morning Star Hotel, Red Cross, Tyler Street Resource Center, Samaritan's Outreach, Catholic Family Services; Amarillo Agency for Women, Angel Committee for AMHC and secretary for AMHC. She related well to people and everyone who knew her, loved her. She is survived by her husband, Roy Gayle Stewart; a sister, Carolyn Panger of Amarillo and 7 nieces and nephews. .Memorial donations may be made to Texas Panhandle Mental Health Mental Retardation, 1501 S.
