Barbara Jean Phillips-Lyons

Barbara Jean Phillips-Lyons 80 of Amarillo died Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Childress Cemetery with Mike Martin, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Lyons was born on June 1, 1937 in Childress to Leonard and Lou Phillips. She moved to Amarillo 38 years ago from Hereford. Mrs. Lyons worked for the Texas Employment Commission in Amarillo and Hereford. She retired in 2002. She married Joe Lyons in Hereford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 2007 and by her parents. A special Thanks to the pastor and staff of South Georgia Baptist Church for the love and care that was graciously extended to Barbara. She is survived by two step-sons, Steve and Frank; on step daughter, Ginger and her care-givers, Clyde and Alma Turner of Amarillo. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to South Georgia Baptist Church, 5209 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79110. The cemetery is located on the east side of Farm Road 268 (3rd St. NE), 1/2 mile north of US Highway 287 (Ave F NE).
