Barbara L. Vinson

Barbara L. Vinson, 60, of Fritch, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2026.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Llano Cemetery with Thomas Miller officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage.

Barbara was born on June 27, 1966, in Ridgecrest, California, to William and Betty (Clark) Jeffres. She married the love of her life, Dean Vinson, in Ridgecrest on July 20, 1991. Together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage and built a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.

Barbara was an extraordinary wife, stepmother, grandmother and friend. She had a heart big enough to embrace every living creature she encountered. Horses and animals were among her greatest passions, especially those in need of a little extra care and compassion. Throughout her life, she lovingly cared for dogs, horses, cats, peafowls, and countless other animals that seemed to find their way into her care.

Her love of animals began at an early age. As a young woman, she excelled in dressage and earned championship honors. Later, she attended a prestigious dog grooming academy in New York and went on to establish her own successful dog grooming business.

Barbara enjoyed spending time outdoors, collecting antique furniture and home decor, and traveling between her beloved home in Texas and her roots in California. She treasured time spent with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to make memories with those she loved.

Anyone who knew Barbara knew of her enthusiasm for Star Trek. Her passion for the series brought her great enjoyment throughout the years and was one of the many things that made her uniquely herself.

Barbara was also a cancer survivor. Although she faced lasting complications from chemotherapy and radiation treatments, she met those challenges with strength, perseverance and determination. Through it all, she continued to move forward with grace and resilience.

Above all else, Barbara's greatest love was her family. She and Dean shared a special bond and brought one another immense happiness. Her son, Charles, was the pride and joy of her life, and seeing him happy with his longtime girlfriend, Amy, meant the world to her. She also found tremendous joy in being a grandmother, and her grandchildren brought her endless happiness.

Barbara was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. The many memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Jeffres.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Vinson; her son, Charles Vinson; her stepson, Shane Vinson and wife Courtney; her stepdaughter, Shala Goode and husband Alex; her grandchildren, Dack Moses, Trylan Vinson, Devin Carter and husband Cody, Valor Vinson and Nova Vinson; her great-grandchildren, Julian, Posie, Noa and Niko; her brothers, Mike Jeffres and wife Connie, Gary Jeffres and David Jeffres; and her sister, Donna McNamara.
