Benita H. Lopez

Benita H. Lopez 82, of Amarillo died Sunday September 21, 2008 in Amarillo. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Lopez was born in Floresville. She was raised in Crystal City and moved to Amarillo in 1974 from Crystal City. Mrs. Lopez was a homemaker and a member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Guadalupe. She married Pedro Lopez in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by 8 daughters, Elena Trevino, Janie Huerta and Gracie Garcia all of Amarillo, Rosalinda Petersen and Guadalupe Ybarra both of Fort Worth, Estella Patton of Clarendon, Lydia Sulica of Augusta, GA and Tina Cervantez of San Antonio; 5 sons, Pedro Lopez, Jr., Juan Lopez, Ray Lopez and Joe Lopez all of Amarillo and Richard Lopez of Las Vegas, NV; 39 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angels c/o BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79105.
