Bertha Waddell Walligura 83 of Amarillo died Thursday December 28, 2006 at Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Myrtle Cemetery at Rock Island. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Waligura was born in Rock Island. She moved to Amarillo in 2001. She served in the Army Air Corp as General Lucius D. Clay's personal secretary during WWII, while stationed in Berlin, Germany After her military career she worked at Walcott Schools as a cafeteria cook. She moved to Garwood in 1975 where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Waligura loved gardening, fishing, painting and various other arts and crafts. Survivors include: 1 daughter; Jeana Higgins and her husband Cliff of Amarillo, 2 sons; Mike Barouch and his wife Marsha of Green River, WY and Joe Waligura and his wife Leanne of Leaky, TX., 2 sisters; Beulah Lundquist of Rock Ford, CO and Jean Batla of Sealy, 2 brothers; Tom Waddell of Fabens and Harry Waddell of Bridge City, 7 grandchildren; Angie, Damon, Jessica, Ashley, Craig, Jessie and Lissy and 2 great-grandchildren.
