Betty Joann Engelhaupt

Betty J. Engelhaupt 81, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Amarillo A private gathering of Family and friends was Tuesday evening. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Engelhaupt was born in Cleveland, OH. She moved to Amarillo in 2010 from Redding, California. She was a professional seamstress and could sew any type of clothing from the basics up to beautiful wedding gowns. She loved making crafts for her friends and family. Mrs. Engelhaupt was passionate about helping others, especially children. She married Chris Engelhaupt in 1958 at Reno, NV. They loved visiting Reno, Lake Tahoe and Carson City. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009, a son, David in 2000, 2 sisters, 5 brothers and her great-grandson, Noah. She is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah Brown of Anderson, CA and Deanna Harley of Amarillo; 1 son, Ronald Engelhaupt of Milpitas, CA; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to the March of Dimes.
