Betty Lou Rickert, 86 years old, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at The Craig.
Betty was born in Hereford on January 13, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Jess and Olive (Harris) Ford. Betty was an administrative assistant working in various state government offices.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ronald Rickert; sons: Richard (Pam) Rickert of Beaver City, Nebraska, and Jerry (Viola) Rickert of Amarillo; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Ford of Amarillo.
A service celebrating Betty’s life will be 2:00 PM, Monday April 21 at Prairie View Baptist Church, 3700 E FM 1151, Amarillo with Pastor Glenn McCathern officiating. The burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Saturday, April 19 at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 Osage Street, Amarillo, and 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM Monday, April 21 at Prairie View Baptist Church.
