Beverly June Shelton

Beverly J. Shelton 69, of Amarillo died Thursday March 8, 2012 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Ernie McGaughy, retired United Methodist Minister from Tulia officiating. Cremation and Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Shelton was born in Lubbock on March 14, 1942 to Homer and Mary Simmons. She was raised in Lockney and moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Seagraves. Mrs. Shelton worked as a secretary for the Amarillo Independent School District for many years. She spent most of her career at Travis Middle School. She retired in 1998. She married Joe Shelton on July 20, 1962 in Lockney. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband; 1 son, Michael Shelton of Silver City, NM and a sister Louise Young of Amarillo. The family suggests memorial Donations to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center.
