August 21, 1935 — October 2, 2005

Bill Myers of Amarillo died Sunday October 2, 2005 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday October 6, 2005 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Field Baptist minister officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery . Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage, Amarillo, TX. Mr. Myers and his wife Bonnie were married for 49 years. Mr. Myers was a member of the Baptist church. Mr.Myers served two terms in the Vietnam War and retired from the Army in 1976.While in Vietnam, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Bill and Bonnie moved to Amarillo in 1980. Bill went to work for Pantex and retired in 2001. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his father and mother and two sisters and a granddaughter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife Bonnie; two daughters, Barbara Myers of Bethany OK, and Carolyn Cooper of Macomb, Michigan; one son Mike Myers of Amarillo; two sisters, Goldie Laveen of Washburn,TX; and Helen Anthony of Seattle,Wash. Three brothers; Jack Myers of Galesburg, IL; Tommy Myers of Jacksonville, FL; and Johnny Myers of Jacksonville, FL ; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Viewing will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM and Thursday 8:30 to 12:00 PM.
