Bill 'Pa' Scott

Bill "Pa" Scott, 91, of Amarillo died Friday, April 16, 2021. Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel officiated by Carlos Rodriguez. Burial will be at Mobeetie Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Monday and Tuesday 6:00 PM 8:00 PM. Bill was born October 28, 1929, in Hopbottom Pa to Dorothy and William Scott. Bill was a USAF Veteran. Bill relocated to Amarillo in 1952. Music was a big part of his life. He was a member of a bluegrass group. He held a bluegrass Festival @ his lake house in Clarendon where over a hundred people would show up. He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop, golfing, and fishing. Bill never met a stranger and loved to help. He was very proud to be a part of the honor guard at the Nursing home. Bill married the love of his life, Mearlene. They spent 59 years together before she died in 2012. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his son, Robert Scott, five sisters and two brothers, one grandchild, Whitney. He is survived by four children; Ginger Scott, Brenda Long, Lisa Lethco, and Russell Scott, fourteen Grandchildren; Christal, Monica, Brandy, Misty, Casey, Cassidy, Cody, Justin, Lindsay, Lacey, Lauren, Danielle, Brittany, Cheyanne, twenty-five great-grandchildren; Trevor, Kyas, Brycen, Brendon, Evan, IsaBella, Braelynn, Malachi, Khaleesi, Caydence, Mason, Trenton, Aiden, Carter, Elliot, Gavin, Finn, Noah, Hollis, Preston, Braxton, Legend, Alexander, Austin, Lily, and one great-great-grandchild, Arielle. The family would like to send their appreciation to Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home staff for their hospitality, respect, and professionalism.
