'Bill' William Underwood

William "Bill" Underwood, 85, of Amarillo died Thursday, February 11, 2021. A celebration of life will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 20 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Bill was born in Dodson on August 12, 1935 to Frances and Thomas Underwood. He was a very generous, kind loving, and great father with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed going to the mountains, playing games, riding motorcycles at the river, and camping with his family. Bill met the love of his life, Glyndel at Arnett High School, they married on November 14, 1953. They spent 64 years of marriage together until her death in 2018. Bill worked at Plains Chevrolet, Brown Buick-GMC, before starting his car dealership, Underwoods Auto. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson, Stefan Miller, six sisters, and two brothers. He is survived by his two daughters; Shelley White and her husband Joel, and Sharon Elam and her husband Marvin, one son, Kevin Underwood, three granddaughters; Anastasia Blanda and her husband John, Crystal Kelley and her husband Don, and Jana Sanchez, thirteen greatgrandchildren; Drake, Skyla, Taylee, Tynslee, Lainey, Don, Cole, Elysia, Lillyianna, Miranda, Hannah, Josh, Madilyn, one sister, Georgia Simmons and her husband Bill, and a host of nieces and nephews.
