Bill Vinson 85, of Amarillo died Friday, June 10, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Laurence Catholic Church. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mr. Vinson was born on October 18, 1930 in Wellington. He attended Childress High School. After high school, Bill worked as a bus driver for the Childress Independent School District. He later moved to Amarillo where he worked as a driver for Plains Creamery. He retired from Yellow Freight Services after 29 years of dedicated service. Bill was a long time member of the Teamsters Union. He was known as a kind and faithful friend. Bill was also an extraordinary husband, father and grandfather. He left a legacy for the perfect blending of families. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a son Robert, Lee Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lucy; three daughters, Charlotte Payne and husband Robert of Buford, GA, Gail Tuttle and husband Giffort and Carol Jackson and her husband Bryce all of Amarillo; one son, Bill Vinson, Jr. and his wife Linda of Amarillo and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
