Billie Joe Everett, 77 of Amarillo died Wednesday June 12, 2003 at Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at original building of the First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist Minister officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Military Rites will be by the DAV Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Everett was born in Lometa. He served in the Navy as a Radioman on the USS Huse during WWII. He moved to Amarillo in 1951. He owned and operated the Amarillo Horse Auction from 1965 to 1978. He worked as a sales manager at Amarillo Service and Supply and for Amarillo Fire and Safety. He retired in 1995. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Will Rogers Range Riders, and the High Plains Kiwanis Club. He married Maisie McMahan in 1946 at El Paso. Survivors include his wife of the home, 1 daughter; Melody Pinson of Amarillo, 1 son; Roger Everett and his wife, Marilyn of Yukon, OK, 1 sister, Helen Suter of Carlsbad, NM, 4 grandchildren; Wade H. Pinson, III., and wife Amy Rachelle of Amarillo, Steven J. Pinson, and his wife Amy Gwendolyn of Vilseck, Germany, Erin Everett and Alex Everett both of Yukon, OK and 2 great-grandchildren; William Xavier Pinson and Victoria Valdez Pinson both of Amarillo. The family requests memorial donations to a favorite charity.
