Billie “June” Farner

June Farner (91) of Amarillo, Texas went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday,November 23, 2021. Services will be at Rector Chapel (2800 S. Osage Amarillo, TX) at10:00 am on Tuesday, November 30 with Jeff Messer officiating and then burial at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Sunday 3-7 pm Sunday and 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home June was born on June 26, 1930 to W. A. and Margaret Denney in Nashua, Missouri. June grew-up in Kearney, Missouri and that is where she met Dave Farner. June and Dave were married on December 24, 1948 in Liberty, Missouri and made their home in Kearney. In 1954, the Farners moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and in 1955 they moved again to Amarillo, Texas and became transplanted Texans.June worked for a bookkeeping service as a young bride. When she and Dave moved to Amarillo, she worked as the church secretary at Highland Baptist Church as well as operating her own tax preparation service from their home. June is best remembered as the school secretary at Sanborn Elementary School where she was employed from 1965 until her retirement in 1992. June was preceded in death by her parents W. A. and Margaret Denney; her husband of 64 years Dave Farner; her brothers Everett Denney, Horace Denney, and Pat Denney; her sister, Geraldine Hall; her daughter, Brenda Gauna and her grandson Chad Farner. June is survived by her two sons; Rick Farner and wife Rhonda of Lubbock; Randy Farner and wife Debbie of Amarillo; grandchildren Mandy Fuller, Rick Farner, Duane Farner, Brenda Anglin; great grandchildren Cali Farner, Caitlyn Farner, Addison Fuller, Brantley Fuller; great-great grandchildren Amree Anglin, Kristopher Anglin, Lilee Anglin, Daniel Anglin; a sister in-law Fran Arnold of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and her very special friend who was closer to her than a sister, Betty Davis of Amarillo.
