Billie Jean Montgomery

A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm Monday, January 17 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Shane Toney, her nephew, officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Billie Jean was born on January 10, 1932 in Amarillo to the late J.P. and Elsie Whittington of Dumas. She married R.L. Montgomery, and they had 5 children during their 61 years of marriage. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her husband and family, who loved her dearly, will forever miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Velma Russell and Lois Hockaday; a brother, James Whittington; a son in law, Jack Reed; and a granddaughter, Sheila Renae Montgomery.Survivors include her husband; 3 daughters, Linda Montgomery, Glenda Reed, and Carrol Lyberger and husband John; 2 sons, Roy Montgomery and wife Tammy, and Joe Montgomery and wife Terri; 3 sisters, Shirley Toney, Betty Matson, and Geraldine Risenhoover; 1 brother, Robert Whittington; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, and her pet Prissy whom she loved deeply- We love you Mammie. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, or Olivia's Angels. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm Sunday at the funeral home.
