Billy Ray Thorn

Billy Ray Thorn 55, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Kevin Oakley, pastor of Mescalero Baptist Church and Rev. Robert E. Field, retired Baptist minister officiating. Military Honors will be by the DAV Chapter #26. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Billy Ray was born in Amarillo on October 25, 1957 to Billy H. and Wanda Thorn. He served in the Army for 6 years. He worked at Amarillo Bolt for several years before going to work at Allstate Fasteners where he worked until his retirement in 2010, due to his illness. Billy Ray was a loving father, son, husband and brother. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jennifer Thorn in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his father, Billy in 1988, his sister Rebecca and a brother Marvin, both in 2007. Billy Ray is survived by two daughters, Tasha Thorn of Amarillo and Claudia Alexander of Friona; his mother, Wanda Thorn of Amarillo; one brother, Jerry Thorn of Amarillo; his precious grandson Kayden Martin and his dog, China.
