Billy Ray Wright Jr.

Billy Ray Wright Jr., 61, of Amarillo passed January 21, 2023. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Billy was born on April 30, 1961 in Fortuna, California to Billy Sr and Margorie (Phillips) Wright. Following high school, he attended Arizona Institute of Automotive where he earned his Automotive Mechanic Certificate. He exchanged vows with his beloved Mary Wolf on April 6, 1991. He was a simple man who lived life in a slower gear. He loved to build and work with his hands. No matter the task, he stayed busy utilizing the talent he possessed. As a mechanic, he loved to work on cars. Diagnose, fix, repeat; that was his joy in life. Through his love of fixing cars, he began Bill's Auto Repair where he was owner/operator for 11 years before his health no longer allowed him to work. But that joy failed in comparison to the love he had for his dogs. Billy is preceded in death by his parents and sister Wanda O'Neal. Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved Mary, daughter Sarah Miles, son Brent Wolf, sister Janie Hunter, and brother Keith Wright; as well as many other loving family and dear friends.
