Bob L. Mcdowell

Bob L. McDowell, 91, of Amarillo died September 22, 2021. Service is 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 28 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel Officiated by Randy Srader. Burial Will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Monday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Bob was born in Dimmit on September 25, 1929, to Verna and Kenny Brough McDowell. Bob was an ornery man but could make anyone laugh with his sense of humor. He was hard working. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for ASARCO for 37 Years. Bob tended to the Livestock on the ASARCO fields as well as pastured and plowed their fields. That was Bob's passion. He loved taking care of livestock. He raised Quarter horses, Sheep, and one goat not to mention chickens. Bob also enjoyed gardening. If you couldnt find Bob, chances are you could find him in his garden somewhere with a pocketknife and a watermelon. Bob was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and Servant of God. His faith and passion for the word of Christ meant the world to him "Every day is a good day". Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Joy Cox his two brothers; Elmo and Elvin McDowell, and his former wife, Dana McDowell. He is survived by his wife, Elaine McDowell, his two daughters; Valorie Allen and her Significant other Walt Wilson, and Reverend Jennifer Moreno and her husband Ryan, one stepdaughter, Sherri Vance, two stepsons; Charles Case Jr. and his wife Adina, and Douglas, 10 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, and 6 great-greatgrandchildren, his twin brother, Bill McDowell, his brother, Leland McDowell, and his sister, Carolyn Robertson. The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the VA and Kindred hospice care for the excellent care Bob recieved.
