Bobby Joe Celey

Bobby Joe Celey 78, of Amarillo died Sunday November 9, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Iman Crawford with Central Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Military Honors will be by DAV Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Celey was born in Amarillo. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Navy, Mr. Celey worked as a diesel mechanic for Bruckner's Mack Trucks for 27 years. He then went to work for Burlington Northern as a diesel mechanic. He also worked at R&I Paints for more than 10 years. He married Jeanine Knightstep on Dec. 16, 1955 at Amarillo. Mr. Celey was a loving husband and awesome ""Dad"" to everyone. Survivors include his wife of the home; 2 daughters, Carrie Jean Miller and her husband Randy of Amarillo and Tammie Marie Brannon and her husband Ronny of Oklahoma City; 2 sons, Michael Joe Celey and his wife Stacy and Robert Paul Celey and his wife Darci Ann all of Amarillo; 1 sister, Dorothy Reeves of Amarillo; 1 brother, Jerry Celey of Missouri; 1 sister in law, Cleta Celey of Amarillo; 1 brother in law, Stanley Baldridge of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM 7:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
