Bobby W. Glasscock 73, of Amarillo died Thursday April 30, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Nathan R. Simmons pastor of 58th Avenue Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Glasscock was born on March 14, 1936 in Butler, OK to Chafin and Lillie Glasscock. He moved to Amarillo more than 40 years ago from Oklahoma. Mr. Glasscock graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, OK in 1955. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. During his service he was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. On March 4, 1960, Mr. Glasscock married the love of his life, Christina Crowl. Mr. Glasscock was a member of 58th Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He was born again at the age of 15, and faithfully served the Lord for the rest of his life. He is survived by his wife of the home, 1 daughter, Karla Hankins and her husband James of Hobbs, NM; 2 sons, Gene Glasscock and his wife Marleen of Amarillo and Rob Glasscock and his wife Melissa of Pleasanton; 1 sister, Leta Pauline Ballinger of Riverside, CA; 2 brothers, C.A. Glasscock of Elk City, OK and R.J. Glasscock of Burns Flat, OK; 8 grandchildren, Reagan Newman, Shafer Glasscock, Rory Glasscock, Calli Glasscock, Kyle Glasscock, Nolan Glasscock, Will Glasscock and Matthew Hankins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be to 58th Avenue Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or Texarkana Baptist Orphanage PO Box 611 Texarkana, Texas 75504.
