Boyd Norris Jones

Boyd Norris Jones 67, of Amarillo died Saturday August 8, 2009 at his home. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Christian Heritage Church with Gary Burd, pastor officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Jones was born in Clarksville. He grew up in Hedley and Lakeview. He moved to Amarillo more than 50 years ago. Mr. Jones owned and operated Boyd's Backhoe Service for more than 30 years. He was a good provider for his family. He loved spending time with grandchildren. He was a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Jones also enjoyed fishing, restoring antique cars and playing dominos and Monopoly. He will be greatly missed by his family. He married Geraldene Edens on June 27, 1959 in Lovington, NM. He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Terri Ledford and her husband Jim of San Angelo, Toni Hale and her husband Larry and Tammy Rodgers all of Amarillo; 2 sons, Damon Jones and his wife Lisa and Jeff Jones and his wife Juanita, all of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Yvonne Stone of San Angelo and Theta Davis and her husband Jimmy of Fountain, CO; 1 brother, Jerry Jones and his wife Bessie of Eldorado; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
