Bulah B. Grimes 92, of Amarillo went to her Heavenly home Wednesday April 14, 2010. At the time of her death, she was living at The Arbors Healthcare Facility in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with Rev. Johnny Crawford, pastor of Reydon Community Church of Reydon, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will be at the Mobeetie Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Grimes was born on September 9, 1917 in Sunset, Texas to Jeff and Mary (Vawter) Brewer. She was a long time resident of Mobeetie. She married the love of her life, Doyle Grimes on July 9, 1938. They lived on a cattle ranch for more than 65 years in Wheeler County. Mrs. Grimes loved to quilt at the Old Toddy School House Quilting Club with all of her friends. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her family and loved to work and do all the things a farm wife did. Mrs. Grimes loved to garden, raise chickens and all kinds of fruits and vegetables. She lost her sight in later years. She was said to have had the worst eyesight, but the ""best vision"". She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Mobeetie. Mrs. Grimes was a faithful witness. She was never satisfied until she knew a person had received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death her husband of more than 70 years in February of 2009 and by her parents. Mrs. Grimes is survived by two sons, Jerry Grimes and his wife Beverly and Gary Grimes and his wife Marilyn all of Amarillo; one daughter, Phillis Tucker and her husband Jerry of Guymon, OK; nine grandchildren, Marvin Grimes and his wife Kelley and Darren Grimes and his wife Wendy, all of Lubbock, Brent Grimes and his wife Gina of Piedmont, OK, Kelly Adams and her husband Jason and D'Wan Grimes all of Amarillo, Shanna Ackers and her husband Scott of Houston, Derenda Aranda and her husband Auden of Keyes, OK, Dixie Purdy and her husband Chris of Guymon and Kendra Cantrell and her husband Jason of Dimmitt; 17 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Audrey Alexander and Mary Sue Stephenson and her husband Lynn all of Amarillo and Betty Talley and her husband Sid of Miami; one brother Orvel Brewer and his wife Rosa of Pampa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be to the Mobeetie Cemetery Association in care of the First State Bank of Mobeetie, P.O. Box 8 Mobeetie, Texas 79061 The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt ""Thank You"" to the doctors and staff of The Arbors and BSA Hospice.
