A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 18 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Mike Ecker, of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Carl was born on August 22, 1922 in Memphis, TX, and resided in Amarillo for several years. He married Martha Geraldine Crabb on November 8, 1929 in Pampa, and was reunited with her in heaven exactly 8 days after her passing. He was a welder by trade, and taught a welding class at Amarillo College for a number of years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Carl had a tremendous talent for playing the Harmonica and guitar. He played in various Bluegrass bands with his wife. His grandson, Jayton, is now following in his footsteps. He also enjoyed fishing, and watching football in which he placed bets with his granddaughter, Tonya. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. The family would like to convey a special appreciation to the staff of Hospice Care of the Southwest for their kindness and compassion. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Jerry Lynn Ragan; a daughter, Carla Chapman; a brother, Leroy Ragan; and a grandson, Dustin Chapman. Survivors include his grandchildren, Tonya Jennings and husband Neal, and Tony Chapman; great grandchildren, Dustin Sanders and wife Tessa, Tanner Sanders, Jayton Jennings, Taylor Chapman, and Jaylee Tyler; a great great grandchild, Daetin Sanders; his sister in law, Charlotte Sims Karr and husband Price; an aunt, Nelda Ward; cousins, Randy and Ronnie Ward; and special friends, Norma, Ne Ne, Brandon, and Maria.
