Carmen S. Elliott

Carmen S. Elliott 85 of Amarillo died Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the Miami Cemetery in Miami, TX, with Donald Hill of Canadian officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Elliot was born on March 6, 2013 in Sweetwater, OK to L.D. and Lucille Elliott. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Indiana during WWII. After being honorably discharged, Mr. Elliott worked in the oil fields around Canadian as well as at the Canadian Power Plant. He moved to Amarillo, where he worked for SPS for many years. He retired in 1991. He married Joyce Wheeler-Elkins on Sept. 21, 1983 in Raton, NM. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Elliott and a step-son, Billy Watson He is survived by his wife, 1 son, Danny Elliott of Lubbock; 2 brothers, Les Elliott of Fishers, Ind., and Wes Elliott of Bradenton, FL; 2 sisters, Dorothy Wall of Pampa and Delores Swenn of Woodward, OK; 3 step-children, Brad Watson of Lubbock, Sydna hand of Miss. and Shannon Thaxton of Avon Lake, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Molly. Mr. Elliott will not be available for viewing.
