Carol 'Rusty' Campbell

Carol June (Rusty) Campbell, age 80, died September 16, 2016 at BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Hillside Christian Church West Chapel #200, with Mike Nuthman, associate pastor officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Rusty was born June 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas to Mac and Agnes Russell. She married James L Campbell in 1955 and moved throughout the country, raising their children in Amarillo. She spent most of her adult life in Dallas with her closest friends active in her Women's Group, Investment Club, Book Club, YMCA, and playing Mahjong. In 2013, Rusty moved back to Amarillo to spend the remainder of her life among her children and friends. Rusty was a very involved and fun mother and grandmother, and was passionate about her pets and all animals. She was a founding member of the Animal Rights Association and had a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly. The family would also like to express their great appreciation to the kind and compassionate staff of the BSA Hospice of the Southwest who provided us with comfort and support during Mom's last days. She is survived by her daughter Mara, of Amarillo, two sons Jay and wife Cathy of Walnut Creek, California, Jon and wife Terrie of Amarillo, and two grandsons, Alex and Mason of Amarillo.
