Carolina was born on November 28, 1923 to George H. Reiswig and Helen Bechthold Reiswig on a farm near Booker, Texas. Carolina was a member of First Baptist Church in Morse. The day after her eighteenth birthday, Carolina married Dave Schick, who served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. Together they had and raised five children. One daughter, Joyce, passed away at age 26. Carolina remained an independent and spirited woman long after the passing of her husband, Dave, in 1989. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family, having once gone overseas to visit Germany and several other European countries. She was an avid reader and found joy in playing cards and board games with others. Carolina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four siblings, a grandson, and a daughter. Survivors include three daughters, Jean Schick and Darlene Missy Byrd and her husband Dean all of Amarillo, Elaine Cook and her husband Mickey of Stinnett; one son, David Schick and wife Dannye of Amarillo; a sister, Lorene Littau and husband Albert of Balko, OK; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren; her best friend and loving caregiver, Connie Deshane, and numerous other extended relatives and friends who lovingly thought of Carolina as Grandma.
