Carolyn Sue Roller

August 30, 1951 — April 5, 2024

Carolyn “Grammie” Sue Roller

Devoted Wife, Mother and Grammie to all

Carolyn Roller, 72, passed Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:05am. Carolyn was born August 30, 1951, to Edward and Mary Rice in Dayton, OH. In 1964, Carolyn along with her sister and parents moved to Amarillo, Tx where her father was stationed at the old Air Force base. She took up bowling in high school. Serendipitously, after joining a league in the spring of 1967 she met who would be her husband, Gary Roller. In her yellow sweater during a game while competing against his team, she would lean over to her friend and say, “I am going to marry that man” without knowing Gary yet. They would indeed be wed March 28, 1969. They would soon welcome two children: Brian and Kim.

Carolyn loved numbers and technology; she would find a rewarding career as an accountant/bookkeeper from which she would later retire. Throughout her life Carolyn was passionate about many things such as gardening, OU softball, Jason Statham movies, Trace Adkins, color by numbers, reading murder mystery novels, Judge Judy, anything purple, and teaching anyone who would listen to the art of sewing/quilting. Carolyn also loved wonton soup and made a mean meatloaf that will be dearly missed by us all.

During retirement Carolyn would spend her days with her great-grandchildren and traveling to various parts of the country with Gary and their four dogs in their trailer. But regardless of what Carolyn did she brought happiness and joy to the people around her. She was no nonsense and the greatest advice giver. We will miss her calling us on our birthday first thing in the morning to sing us happy birthday every year. Carolyn or Grammie as many of us know her was an amazing person who left a large impact on everyone who had the pleasure to know her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Rice, her sister Alice Gilbert and Brother-in-law Tim Gilbert. She is survived by her husband of 55yrs Gary Roller, and two children, son Brian Roller and wife Denise Roller of Spearman, Tx and daughter Kim Sharpe and Husband Charlie Sharpe of Amarillo, Tx. Her grandchildren Raissa Lopresto and Husband Dillon Lopresto of Amarillo, Tx, Cody Roller and Wife Jade Roller of Borger, Tx, and Kappie Roller and Fiancé Delbert Bellus of Amarillo, Tx. Along with her four great-grandchildren Hagen, Shadyn, Aimee, and Rowen. Moreover, her beloved dogs Simon, Little, and Casper will miss their mommy dearly.
