Cathy Murphy

Catherine "Cathy" Murphy of Amarillo died Tuesday June 18, 2019. Arrangements made by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Cathy was born August 8, 1954 in Long Beach, California to Royce and Caroline Doran. She moved to Amarillo at a real young age where she spent most of her life. She loved being outdoors, whether it was going to the beach or planting her flowers in the garden, she just loved the sun! She was a sweet loving woman who would help anyone in need, but she was very independent. She was a firm person who had the gift of gab, she didnt mind telling just how it was. Cathy was a comforting person who knew just what to say to make things better. She loved her daughter and her grandchildren endlessly. They shared a passion of collecting rocks and seashells together. Cathy is preceded by her parents, her brother Gerald Doran, and great grandson C.J Wheeler. Cathy is survived by her daughter Renee and husband Rusty Wheeler, three Brothers Densel, Johnny, and Roy Doran, two sisters Jennie Doran and Julie Murphy-Fagnant, two grandsons Cidney Wheeler and Tyler Whitman, two grand daughters Sonnie and Sadie Wheeler, her friend Veronica Hill, and her best friend for over forty years, Patricia Osborn.
