Charlene Brooks

Charlene Brooks 92 of Amarillo died Friday January 25, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Community of Christ Church 1822 S. Manhattan, with Newt Carleton, Priest officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Brooks was born in Mount Ayr, IA. She moved to Amarillo in 1957 from Fort Dodge, IA. She worked part time at Sears and Starks Wrap and Gift. Her most loved job was being a homemaker, wife and mom. She was an active member of the Community of Christ Church. She married Don Brooks on April 25, 1952 at Des Moines, IA. He died in 1986. Survivors include: a daughter, Lynda Gray and her husband Jim of Amarillo; a son Rich Lazear of Kona, HI; 2 grandsons, Todd Gray and his wife Catana of Amarillo and Scott Lazear and his wife Melanie of Reno, NV; a great-grandson Grayson Lazear of Reno, NV; her brother, Rex Fuller and his wife Ruth of Hot Springs, AR; a sister in law, Donna Jean Hay of Fort Dodge, IA; a brother in law, Vernon Brooks and his wife Myrle of Highland, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
