Charlene Joy Conner, affectionately known as Jodi to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on November 13, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, Jodi was a lifelong resident of her beloved hometown where she also drew her last breath, surrounded by the love of her family.

Jodi was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Fred Conner, her parents, William and Beatrice Kerns, her sisters, Yvonne Trask, Vinita Woods, and Marlene Grant, and her nephew, Joel Bell and niece Jenny Woods. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her son, Rick Conner, and his wife, Anne; her adored grandchildren, Kayla El Ourdighi and her husband, Ahmed, Kadin Conner, and Keira Conner; her sister, Sally Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by her loving spirit.

Jodi was a graduate of Tascosa High School. Her passion for education and her nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a substitute teacher at San Jacinto Christian Academy. She was a beloved figure in the classroom, where she shared not only knowledge but also kindness and encouragement with her students.

Her interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Jodi was an avid bowler in her younger years, a hobby that brought her much joy and camaraderie. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devout listener to the sermons of Jeff Hodges, which enriched her spiritual journey. Jodi's love for Fox News and game shows was well-known, providing her with many hours of entertainment and lively discussion.

A fervent supporter of President Trump, Jodi was also a staunch advocate for first responders, nurses, and the military, recognizing and appreciating their dedication and sacrifice. Her patriotism and care for those who served were unwavering.

Above all, Jodi's heart belonged to her family. Her love for her husband, son, grandchildren, sister, and her dogs, Lucy and Daisy, was immeasurable. She was the embodiment of a loving, faith-filled, and friendly soul, always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone she met.

Jodi's legacy is one of love and faith, of dedication to her family and her community. She will be remembered as a woman who lived her life with purpose and joy, who cherished every moment with her loved ones, and who inspired others to do the same.

As we bid farewell to Jodi, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jodi's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all.
