Charles Myers Billman Sr.

Charles Myers Billman, Sr., 100, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2002 in the parlor at Park Place Towers, 1300 S. Harrison in Amarillo, with the Rev. John Watson, III, Rector at St. Peters Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio at a later time. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Charles Billman was born to Lily May Myers Billman and Charles Sylvester Billman on August 31, 1902 in Dayton, Ohio. He had been in this life 100 years plus 102 days. This was a good and generous lifespan for a man of equal standing. He attended Dennison University in Granville, Ohio. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1925. In April 1931, he married Katharine Gilbert Rutherford of Steelton, Pennsylvania. Katharine preceded him in death on November 1, 1987. Mr. Billman served as an Assistant Vice President with Winters National Bank (later to become “Bank One”) in Dayton and retired from the bank in 1967. After his retirement, Mr. Billman had a tour of duty with the International Executive Service Corp helping to improve and expedite the accounting methods of a Portland cement company in Gresik, Indonesia. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Katharine Rutherford Anthony; 1 son, Charles Myers Billman, Jr.; 1 daughter-in-law, Patricia Billman; 4 grandchildren, Robert Anthony, Garrett Billman, Gregory Billman, and Dawn Anthony Burns; 7 great-grandchildren, and one “on the way”.
