Charles Denton

Charles Denton, 85, of Amarillo died Thurs. Oct. 24, 2019 in Amarillo. Service will be 10 am Saturday Oct. 26 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with James Griffin officiating. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage. Charles Denton was born December 3, 1933 to Stephen and Ada Denton in Lelia Lake. He graduated from Lelia Lake high in 1951, right out of high school he joined the army. He played guitar in his younger years. When Charles was in the army, he was a boxer. On April 3 1998 he married the love of his life Mary. Charles was a wonderful man; he was sweet and kind. He was a wonderful father and husband. He loved Family gatherings, or just gatherings in general. Every Friday he went to lunch with his close friends. He loved Saturday breakfast with his family. Charles loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Really anything out doors. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and his steps son Bobby Short. Charles is survived by his wife, his son, Randy Denton and his wife Pauline, his daughter, /Twana Denton, two step-daughters; Jacque Morin and Amanda Short, one grandson, Christopher Denton, and one granddaughter, Victoria Gomez.
