Charlotte Jean Herrington

Charlotte Kitchens Herrington, 78, of Amarillo passed peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023. A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 2pm in the Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage with Pastor Chris Condit of Hillside Christian Church presiding. Charlotte Kitchens was born March 29, 1944 in Jester, Oklahoma to Lucy Mae Prater and Roy Arol Cotton. Charlotte was the youngest of 4 children and was the last living Cotten sibling. Charlotte married Robert Eugene Kitchens in May of 1960 and preceded him in death in 1977. She attended Pampa High School. Charlotte had 4 children. She loved spending time with all of them and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She refused to be called grandma because it made her feel old so she was called Nanny. Nanny loved springtime, planting flowers and watching them grow throughout the seasons. She would sit on her front porch in her swing with her dog Bella. Arts and crafts were her passion. She loved to sew and make decorations to give to her family. Nanny also loved music. Her favorites being Bruce Springsteen, Journey and Hank Williams Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are Thresa Russell of Amarillo, Becky Amos of Amarillo and Chris Kitchens. Charlotte was preceded by daughter, Terrie Kitchens Miller of Amarillo in January 2018 and great-granddaughter, Skyleigh Russell of Amarillo, Also 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and her dog Bella.
