Chester Lee Fulkerson

Chester Lee Fulkerson, 81 of Amarillo died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at Llano Cemetery with Danny Lucas, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Fulkerson was born in Flatonia on October 1, 1930 to Joseph Craig and Zona Jane (Duncan) Fulkerson. He moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Dimmitt. Mr. Fulkerson was a independent insurance agent for many years. He was also a member of AMBUC's where he had served as president and National Director. Mr. Fulkerson enjoyed children. He was active in Future Farmers of America and Kids Inc. He loved mentoring children and helping them reach their full potential as adults. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers and a step-son Terry Perkins. Mr. Fulkerson was a devoted Christian and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Mr. Fulkerson is survived by his wife, Twyla, 1 son, Troy Fulkerson of Hurst; 4 daughters, Judy Moenter and Kathy Plautz both of Amarillo, Debbie Anderson of Watauga and Melanie Bohn of New Orleans, LA; 1 step-son, Larry Perkins of Bergheim; 1 step-daughter, Kelly Perkins of Albuquerque, NM, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to Kids Inc., 2201 SE 27th Ave. Amarillo, Texas 79103.
