Christopher Sierra of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 23, 2026, at the age of 79.
He was born in Millett, Texas, in 1947, and spent his early years growing up in Hereford, Texas, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. Later, he made Amarillo his home, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and simple joys.
Chris was a true outdoorsman. He found peace on the water, casting his line while fishing, and embraced the challenge of hunting elk with his bow. In his later years, he discovered a new favorite pastime—playing bingo—which brought him laughter, friendship, and many happy memories.
He worked as a construction worker for many years and took great pride in his craft. Through dedication and determination, he even owned and operated his own concrete business, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance.
Above all else, Chris’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He met the love of his life, Estella, at The Nat and the two quickly became inseparable. They married soon after and began building a life together, welcoming their first child in 1968. Together, they raised three children, Anna, Christopher, and Jessica, in Amarillo, creating a home filled with love, strength, and lasting memories.
Chris found immense joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He cherished summers spent at fishing tournaments, where he passed down his knowledge and love of the sport to his grandchildren. He could often be found cheering from the sidelines at football games, always their biggest supporter, and was never too busy to lend a helping hand or offer guidance. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he proudly shared his passion for the team with his grandchildren, creating special bonds through the game.
He is survived by his children: daughter, Anna Perez and her husband Raul Perez; daughter Jessica Leonard and her husband Edward Leonard; and son, Christopher Sierra. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family.
Chris will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering dedication to those he loved, and the many lives he touched throughout his years. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
