Clarence Lee ""C.L."" Perkins, 80, of Amarillo died Thursday October 25, 2012 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday in Llano Cemetery with Bro. Roger Johnston, pastor of Northside United Pentecostal Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Perkins was born in Amarillo on February 16, 1932 to Clarence P. and Opal (Guinn) Perkins. He worked for Gilvan and Terrell as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years. After leaving Gilvan and Terrell, He owned and operated C.L Perkins Trucking. Mr. Perkins loved the cowboy way of life. He was an avid rodeo fan and especially enjoyed steer tripping and bull riding. He married Juanita Collins on October 15, 1973 in Santa Fe, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terry Perkins, a step-son, Kevin Wayne Collins and a grandson Ryan Collins. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; one son, Larry Perkins of Bergheim; one daughter, Kelly Perkins of Albuquerque, NM; two Step-sons, Gayland Collins of Douglas, GA and Lynn Collins of Flower Mound; 2 step-daughters, Teresa Collins of Brownwood and Charlotte Shaw of Dublin; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
